Some of you may remember my post from 6 months ago, where I shared the stunning under sea photography of Alexander Semenov. Alexander is a research diver working at Russia's White Sea Biological Station, and a pretty gifted shutterbug. He manages to capture hauntingly beautiful images of underwater flora and fauna, some of which are so alien to our eyes that it's become clique to say so. A Severed Leg on the Sidewalk (Warning: Graphic Images)

While driving through the suburbs this morning, I happened upon the severed leg of a deer. Could evolution have put it there?

Sorry folks. These pictures (bottom) aren't pretty, but damn are they fascinating.

When driving one of my kids to school today I noticed something odd out the window, and after the tot was safely in class I circled back to see what it was. There on the sidewalk was what appeared to be the severed leg of a deer, partially frozen, and particularly haggard looking.

Gorilla Business

I love watching the gorillas... almost as much as I love watching people watch the gorillas.

Yesterday, I was asked to drop the family off at the Toronto Zoo, a request which I refused.

See, my wife recently had surgery on her foot, and can't walk around very much. However there's a splash-park within the zoo, so she and some friends were meeting there to sit around and gab while the children played themselves into certain afternoon naps. Being a male, I was not invited to the chatter-fest, and was told to return some hours later to pick them all up.

My answer was a resounding "NO!"
