Are There Aliens in This Footage?

Do you know what we're looking at in this video? Aliens? Monsters? A government experiment gone wrong? The short film entitled 'S.I.T.E.' takes an awesome approach to keeping things mystifying by never really letting the audience all the way in on it's secrets, and damn if the result isn't gripping.
As near as I can tell, S.I.T.E. tells the story of an unmanned military probe attempting to look in on some strange colony of beings, and when something disturbs those creatures, things go awry. By showing us this world through all sorts of noise and interference, the filmmaker tidily hides his animation and makes the whole thing look frighteningly real.
The only thing more mysterious than this awesome little short, made by Pablo Orlowsky, is the filmmaker himself. This is the only video he's posted as far as I can tell, and no credits are given beyond his name. The only info I have at all is that Pablo hails from Belize.
All this furthers the bizarre aura around this amazing short film. Maybe — just maybe — Pablo didn't animate the footage at all, but merely stumbled upon it?
