Around these parts some hikers and bikers don’t like the ATV crowd, perhaps in part because they think nature should be enjoyed naturally, or because you can’t be one with the trees if you’re pumping carbon into the atmosphere.

To them I have only the following to say: go eat a granola bar. ATVs use fantastically little gas, and they transport you far out into parts of the woods you would never otherwise go. I find it very peaceful on the trails, spending the whole time just drinking in the majesty of the unmolested woods. No high-and-mighty hiker is going to take that away from me.
